Pinot Nero
Tasting
notes
Intense red with purple shades. On the nose, this wine is rich and fruity with aromas of cherry and spicy notes of black pepper. Dry, full-bodied flavour, generous and round on the palate.
Food pairings
Excellent with meat dishes such as Wellington filet, rostbeef or beef fillet with porcini mushrooms. Also try it with mature cheese and truffles.
Serve at 18-20°C.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and vinified with about 7/8 days of maceration to extract colour and structure. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out entirely in inox tanks at a controlled temperature of 25/27°C.
Veneto has a temperate climate, mitigated by the sea. Winters are cold and wet, summers hot and muggy with average ranges. In Friuli, too, proximity to the sea gives a temperate, mild climate, with cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers with average temperature ranges. Throughout, the Alps range protects the region from cold winds from the north.
